Advisory
Startup Advisory & Founder Mentorship
Siora Capital works alongside a small group of early-stage founders in India — as an investor, an advisor, or both — with the same operator-led lens on every problem.
We built Siora Capital on a simple belief: capital compounds faster when it arrives with the right context. Most first-time founders do not need more money — they need fewer expensive mistakes.
Our mentorship approach is deliberately hands-on and deliberately narrow. We do not spread ourselves across dozens of casual "advisor" slots. We work closely with a small cohort of founders each year, in a monthly working cadence, with real skin in the game — often as an investor, sometimes as an advisor first, always with a bias towards helping you make the next decision better than the last one.
Every founder we work with gets direct access to the principal, not a rotating pool of associates. That constrains the number of relationships we can hold at once — and that is the point. Advisory only compounds when the person on the other end of the call actually remembers your last three decisions.
What we advise on
The five areas we can actually help with
Fundraising strategy
Round sizing, narrative, investor mapping, and term-sheet negotiation — informed by hundreds of pitches on the other side of the table.
Go-to-market
Positioning, channel selection, pricing, and the first 100 customers. We help founders find repeatable acquisition, not just early activity.
Hiring & leadership
First ten hires, org design, founder-CEO transitions, and building compensation that scales without breaking the cap table.
Unit economics
Cohort and contribution-margin analysis, pricing experiments, and the operating cadence that turns raw growth into durable margins.
Governance
Board construction, investor reporting, ESOP design, and the founder-agreement basics that quietly decide the next three rounds.
How advisory works alongside our investments
Siora Capital invests early — pre-seed and seed cheques, occasionally leading, more often anchoring alongside institutional partners. Advisory is not a separate business line; it is the natural extension of how we invest. For portfolio companies, hands-on mentorship is included in the relationship from day one.
For a small number of founders we meet outside the portfolio, we sometimes begin with a lightweight advisory engagement — usually a monthly working session for six months, structured around a specific goal like closing the seed round or hitting a defined GTM milestone. A meaningful share of those relationships later convert into investments, because both sides have built real conviction.
Either way, the operating principle is the same: patient, honest, and low-noise. We are not the loudest voice in your inbox. We are the one you call before a hard decision.
Who this is for
- — First-time founders in India navigating the first 18 months post-idea or post-seed.
- — Second-time founders re-entering the market who want a sparring partner, not a cheerleader.
- — Teams raising a seed or pre-Series A round and wanting a structured, honest read on the deck and process.
- — Founders in technology, consumer, and climate-adjacent sectors — where our operator experience meaningfully carries.
