Building a Pitch Deck That Gets Funded: The 10-Slide Framework
The best pitch decks are not designed to answer every question. They are designed to earn the next meeting. Keep it to ten slides and make each one carry its weight.
The 10 slides, in order
1) Insight 2) Problem 3) Solution 4) Why now 5) Market 6) Traction 7) Business model 8) Go-to-market 9) Team 10) The ask. Anything outside this can live in an appendix.
The three slides investors actually read first
Insight, traction, and team. If any of these is weak, the rest of the deck cannot save it. Rewrite these three until a friend outside your industry can repeat them back to you.
Common mistakes to cut
Bottom-up TAM slides, competitor grids where you are best at everything, roadmap slides longer than 12 months, and any slide with more than 30 words. Investors will not read them, and worse, they signal a founder who cannot prioritise.
